Dear Diary,
I was racing with my friend Ellen. I raced her to the street corner. When I got to the street corner two soldiers were standing tall. Then Ellen and Kirsty followed behind. The soldiers asked,“Why are you running?” I replied, “ I was just racing my friend.” The soldiers said, “ Ok go on and don’t run on the sidewalk.” I said, “ yes sir.” We went home and Ellen said,”I’m not going to tell.” I said, “I won’t either.” But when I got in my house Kirsty was already telling my parents. Ellen’s mom was in there too. My mom just told Ellen and I to take a different way for now on.
Sincerely, Annemarie
